“Dear Runners,
Due to the heavy rains, we will be postponing the REXONA RUN 2012 event to SEPTEMBER 23, Sunday still at the Mall of Asia grounds. We feel that due to the current calamity, it would be inappropriate to still push through with the event. We have taken into consideration that a lot of the runners may be living in affected areas, and that our route marshals are part of the AFP so th
ey will be busy with relief operations.
Instead, we will be focusing our efforts on relief operations this weekend, particularly in Marikina. You are very much welcome to participate or help out in any way. More details will be posted soon.
Thank you for understanding. Please stay safe and dry!
Coach Rio”
See you on September 23, 2012 at the Mall of Asia (MOA)!!

Thank you very much!
Before I start, I would like to let the readers know that I am not against people or organizations who are asking help from me in promoting their events/products/whatever they have. I’m open to offer some help even in the simplest way.
Have you ever experienced helping others even in the smallest way you can? It feels good right? But have you experienced offering your assistance and then regretted it? I do.
I was asked by Daniel to help him find bloggers for his running event. So I gave him a list of my friends who can help, unfortunately not all were able to confirm to his invitation because of their busy schedules. Not to mention the invite was not done in a good taste either. Still I posted his event on my blog to help him promote albeit the many changes in his posters, dates, and what nots.
All along I thought the event was running smoothly not until I got a comment/message on my blog. You can sense the frustration of the sender about the organizer. And the way I read her message, they thought I’m part of the organizing committee. As a courtesy I offered to forward their concern to the organizer and made clear that I’m not in any way part of the organizers.
I messaged Daniel about this and that’s when I knew that they no longer handle the event. I got a little furious about the news. My point is they should have told me and the rest of the bloggers whom they’ve sent their press materials about the changes. It felt unfair on my part being someone willing to help out and yet get complaints from runners without the slightest idea of the issues to think I’m just a messenger or email away.
I apologize for ranting. There’s this need of pouring out how I feel about the incident.

Run United Race Expo Details:
Objectives of a race expo:
“The race expo completes the active health experience by gathering runners, sports enthusiasts and their families in this four-day event. Runners can hang out with their friends while checking out the coolest and latest sports apparel. Fitness and athletic brands also present their latest products and services, including gadgets, running gear, among others.
Coach Rio dela Cruz said the race expo brings Run United to a whole new level. “Major international marathons like the ING New York Marathon and Chicago Marathon hold their own expos days before the event. Together with UNILAB Active Health, we look at some of the best practices from international races, and apply them to the Run United Series to further enhance the race experience of the Filipino running community.” “
Team Bike Boutique on Race Expo:
“As a testament to the level of commitment that Active Health brings to the runners, it has brought in the Team Bike Boutique, the official merchandise partner of Ironman races worldwide, to organize the Run United Race Expo.”
Who is Team Bike Boutique?
The 2012 Run United 2 is for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga and Children’s Hour. For more inquiries, check out www.unilabactivehealth.com and www.facebook.com/unilabactivehealth.
